Bryn ran the Marathon and raised over £2000. Here’s what inspired him.

“As most of you know, I have wanted to do the London Marathon for a long time and this year I have been lucky enough to get a place. Running this year has also given me the opportunity to raise money for my charity of choice, which is The Cancer Hair Care.

Cancer Hair Care was set up and is run by an old friend of mine Jasmin Julia Gupta. Caroline and myself have had first hand experience of the amazing work that Jasmin does and the enormous support she gives at a very worrying time. Cancer Hair Care is a specialist cancer charity offering free expert advice on all aspects of hair loss before, during and after cancer treatment.

More importantly, Cancer Hair Care helps teenagers and children to feel supported and ultimately better during this dreadful period of their lives. It provides free wigs, hats, scarves and the one-to-one support they need to face cancer. Especially important are the sessions for teenagers – it is hard enough facing cancer, but for a teenager loosing their hair this can be a harsh trauma.

As a guide, services cost £1,500 for an in-hospital session that supports 25 children with cancer. It would be great to raise the £1,500 to be able to provide those children with this amazing support service during this most traumatic time.
